August 2022 Donor Spotlight: Take Note Colorado

A Child’s Song (ACS) received a $10,000 grant at the end of 2021 from Take Note Colorado to launch a brand-new program offered at Crossroads Community Center in Northglenn. The program, which began in January 2022, was able to provide culturally-appropriate movement and music classes for children ages 3 to 6, and group guitar and keyboard lessons for older youth once a week, and continued programming throughout the year.

This program, referred to as the Northglenn Alliance, grew out of conversations with community members who were frustrated with a lack of educational enrichment programs for their children in their own neighborhood, specifically musical programming. They were looking for programs for their children that could be offered at the same time parents participated in ELL classes, removing the barrier of childcare. This program is a community collaboration between ACS,  Mercy Music, and Crossroads Church.

The program will resume this Fall.
