VOLUNTEER WITH ACS

Our volunteer program is a symphony of dedicated individuals who come together with a shared passion for music and education. Each volunteer adds a unique note to our melody, amplifying our impact and ensuring every human regardless of age, ability or socio-economic status has access to the transformative power of music. From behind-the-scenes tasks to front-and-center roles, our volunteers infuse their love for music into every task, helping to nurture the next generation of musicians, listeners, and dreamers. Volunteer Opportunities

ADMIN SUPPORT

  • Administrative Assistant: Helping with clerical tasks, data entry, and office management.
  • Translator or Interpreter: Helping to communicate with diverse communities or translating materials
  • Technical Support: Assisting with IT needs, maintaining the website, or helping with software
  • Professional Support: Assist with human resources, accounting, or other professional aspects of running a nonprofit

FUNDRAISING

  • Fundraiser: Actively seek donations, grants, or sponsorships and run fundraising campaigns
  • Community Outreach Ambassador: Representing the organization at community events, fairs, and other public platforms
  • Advocate or Lobbyist: Representing the organization’s mission and interests at a political or policy-making level

EVENT SUPPORT

  • Event coordinator: Helping fine tune event details, acquire in-kind donations for attendee celebration and staff appreciation
  • Event decorator: Create a visually engaging display that provides ambiance and a welcoming atmosphere 
  • Event support: Greeting guests, handing out materials, and engaging with participants
  • Greeter/guest appreciation
  • Photographer: Photography and videography support

Volunteer Requirements at A Child’s Song:

  1. Passion for Our Mission: An earnest commitment to fostering a love for music and its transformative effects on children.
  2. Dedicated Time: Commit to a specified number of hours or be available for particular events, ensuring consistent support to our programs.
  3. Age Criteria: All volunteers must be at least 18 years old
  4. Background Screening: All volunteers, especially those working closely with children, will undergo a thorough background check to ensure the safety and integrity of our environment.
  5. Orientation and Training: Attend mandatory training sessions to familiarize oneself with our curriculum, methods, and organizational values.
  6. Specific Skills: While not mandatory for all roles, certain positions may require expertise in music, education, or related fields.
  7. Professional Conduct: Adherence to A Child’s Song code of conduct, ensuring a respectful and harmonious environment for all.
  8. Confidentiality Commitment: Understand and respect the privacy of our students, staff, and other volunteers.
  9. Effective Communication: The ability to interact positively and clearly with our team, students, and their families.
  10. Reliability: Commit to schedules, be punctual, and inform in case of any unforeseen changes.
  11. Cultural Awareness: Exhibit sensitivity and respect to the diverse backgrounds of our students and their families.
  12. Health and Safety: Adhere to any health guidelines set forth, ensuring a safe environment for everyone.
  13. Continuous Learning: Be open to feedback and continuous improvement in your role.
  14. Team Collaboration: Work in harmony with fellow volunteers, staff, and the community, emphasizing the collaborative spirit of music.
