A Child’s Song Offers Free Music Classes for Teach Music Week

A Child’s Song is offering three free music classes in honor of the 9th annual Teach Music Week by Keep Music Alive. While the event week occurs from March 20 through March 26th, the ACS studio will be closed for Spring Break, so we will continue the celebration upon our return with the following classes:

Free Melody Gym Classes

Wednesday, March 29th from 10 am – 10:45 am
or Friday, March 31st from 10 am – 10: 45 am

Children age birth through 4 years old and their caregivers are invited to join us either day to explore our Melody Gym for fun and engaging music and movement learning! In our Melody Gym classes, children learn to enjoy music through, instrument exploration, vocal play, story-telling, singing, and dancing, while learning crucial skills such as how to socialize with others, waiting patiently, taking turns, sharing, and much more!

Free Drum Circle & Instrument Exploration

Friday, March 31st from 6 pm – 7 pm

Individuals ages 4+ get hands-on experience with the African drums as a part of our World Drumming circle. Explore various call-and-response bonding activities and rhythmic challenges to find the beat in various songs and create an inclusive space, free from judgment, that provides a sense of unity and strength for participants. Then explore other instruments in the studio to see if one might spark further curiosity!

Registration

If you would like to participate in any of the free classes available, please submit an RSVP by emailing us your name and how many will be attending:  info(at)achildssong.com. Please note guardians must stay with all children.

About Teach Music Week & Keep Music Alive

Keep Music Alive is celebrating the 9th Annual “Teach Music Week” from Monday, March 20th to Sunday, March 26th. They are encouraging musicians and music schools everywhere to find one new student they can begin to teach by offering one free 30-minute lesson.  Often the biggest hurdle to anything is just getting started, so by encouraging music teachers and potential students to reach out to each other, a passion for music education could be ignited and new students could play music long after the month of March is over. The ultimate goal is to help more kids and adults reap the educational, therapeutic, and social benefits of playing music.
