Thornton, Colorado, February 2022 — A Child’s Song (ACS) would like to thank the  Adams County Foundation for their generous $10,000 grant to help provide in-school and after-school music and movement classes serving youth in Adams County. ACS currently serves 1,075 youth in Adams County each year through Early Childhood/Preschool, Studio, In-School, After-School, and Community-Outreach music and mentoring programs.

With this funding, ACS will continue to introduce students to the hope and joy of music instruction through gifted, teachers and mentors; provide instruments for at-home use for low-income students, to encourage practice and family participation; and provide need-based scholarships for programming participation.

ACS’s Executive Director, Sandy Taylor shared, “Many argue, that music and arts programs are optional when so many individuals face extreme financial hardship and food insecurity due to COVID-19. The reality is that the arts and the routine of weekly lessons provide comfort during difficult times. Through innovation and ingenuity, and funding from organizations like the County of Adams, ACS, and other arts organizations are doing all we can to keep the arts alive for Adams County youth during the continuing pandemic.”
