Marc has been a volunteer at ACS since 2014, previously serving as Board Chair and head of its Strategic Planning Committee. Marc is currently an Emeritus Board Member of ACS.

Marc is uniquely qualified for this position, having previously volunteered as Vice President of the Colorado Lutheran Home Board of Directors, as President of the Thrivent Foundation Jefferson County Chapter, and as a Member of the Lutheran
Hospital Senior Services Board of Directors. Marc was also President/Vice-President of the ACCESS Housing Board of Directors in Commerce City for twelve years. Marc has an MBA in Finance from the University of Colorado and a BSBA in Finance, Accounting, and Sociology from the University of Denver. His skill sets include grant writing and evaluation, video and still photo production, journalism, and creative writing.

Donor Business Development Activities
Marc is tasked with leveraging donor partner engagement for ACS. He has worked with the ACS staff in developing a dynamic set of donor relations materials that are being shared with current and prospective donors. He is responsible for leveraging prospective donor engagement with ACS staff, the ACS Board of Directors, and existing partners.

Working closely with ACS’ fundraising team, Marc has already successfully leveraged relations with donors such as the 5280 Referral Network and the Heritage Todd Creek neighborhood through a car show in May 2022 at Todd Creek and a Community Appreciation event at ACS in September 2022.

Marc plans to conduct regular community tours of ACS in 2023, sharing the success story of how ACS has helped thousands of students of all ages realize the gift of music in the past twenty-two years. Marc’s work with the 5280 Referral Network will include another car show to benefit ACS in the Todd Creek neighborhood in May 2023. Marc has also been working closely with ACS Fundraising Committee and the Heritage Todd Creek community which is sponsoring ACS at its annual “Casino Night” event in April 2023.

Marc works closely with the Administrative and Fundraising staff of ACS to strengthen ACS as a trusted brand and as the “go-to” organization for high-quality and affordable music instruction in both private and public settings. ACS is an organization that does not just talk…it shows up to deliver a high-quality musical instruction experience to anyone, regardless of ability or financial need. It provides this instruction in a comforting and noncompetitive atmosphere not common to other music schools.

ACS is looking for community partners who share our passion for music. Your charitable donations make an immediate difference in the lives of our students. In many cases, the music instruction provided by ACS will be the only opportunity a student has to experience the lifetime gift of music.

Donate Now To Make A Difference In Someone’s Life!

You can support ACS by choosing to write a check, set up monthly giving or make an in-kind donation. When you give a donation to ACS, you can make your gift for specific programs or you can make the funding unrestricted. You are in control of how your money is used.

Grants from the community provide ACS with a great way to leverage its resources and expertise. Our Outreach programs are always in need of support.

Scholarships are a valuable investment in the future. Your donations allow students to access a music education and ease the financial burden on them and their families. Scholarships funded by your donations allow our students to explore their dream of music.

Matching gifts get the whole team engaged in giving. If your company has a matching gifts program, your donation’s impact is boosted with added funding from your company and you choose the causes you want to support. Our website will show you how to take advantage of this valuable resource for maximizing the impact of your giving.

The choice is yours as to how you can make a difference in the lives of students of all ages throughout the metropolitan Denver area. Your donations can provide funds for our Melody Gym program, support private and group instrument instruction, fund scholarships for deserving students, boost impact through your employers’ matching gift programs and support a variety of ACS’ other programs. Your dollars can also fund our Outreach programs in area schools and musical programming for seniors.

A Child’s Song was founded in 1999 to ensure that any child, regardless of developmental ability or income, can pursue high-quality music instruction. The current economic climate has created a deep divide between arts education opportunities enjoyed by “those that have” and “those that don’t have.” ACS wants to pursue its mission and introduce new students to the hope and joy of music instruction and movement, and to provide need-based scholarships enabling all who are interested to participate in our programs.

ACS’s Executive Director Sandy Taylor shared that “Many argue that music and arts programs are optional…the reality is that the arts and the routine of weekly programming provide comfort during difficult times. Through innovation, ingenuity, and relief funding from donors like you, ACS and other arts organizations are doing all we can to keep the arts alive for students of all ages throughout the metropolitan Denver area.”

A Child’s Song provides music and movement education and a broad variety of music classes and other tailored education for the entire family in order to enhance brain development and improve academic outcomes in an atmosphere that nurtures, advances, and preserves the art of creating music.
